The Sikkim Manipal University of the Health and Technological Science, Gangtok, a constituent of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is incorporated under the State Legislative Act (Act IX of 1995) of Govt. of Sikkim and is recognised by Union Ministry of Human Resource Development and University Grants Commission. The courses offered by SMU include Masters Degree Programme, Diplomas and Postgraduate Diplomas in Information Technology, Management and Commerce  and other programmes.
